I simply wanted to express a little joy at my second reading of 'Pillars of the Earth,' which I first read in the late 80s. You've written a wonderful story, in a great historical setting, with fine characters. It helped inspire my recent planning of my 14th Renaissance Dinner production by my high school choir.

I'm a lover of historical music and continually work to inspire my own students to find the great worth of reproducing fine music. I'm always looking for bits of historical information to help my students understand the music of those historical periods in art. Your book fed my love of history and artistry and great escapism. Thank you for that gift.

I started reading your books when I was aged 13, and my father would give me hell because he said the theme was too mature for me. My first book was 'Eye of the Needle'. I'm 38 now and have read all your works - except maybe for the latest ones. I never get tired of re-reading most of them, and especially 'Eye of the Needle'. And I was so moved by 'The Man from St. Petersburg'. Actually, I just finished my dose of 'Eye' for the month.

I had an opportunity to read your two very fascinating, vibrant books: 'Eye of the Needle' and 'Lie Down with Lions'. Both are simply superb books. During reading, I did not sleep for two nights! I am from India and know the places in 'Lie Down with Lions'. I appreciate the pains you have taken in explaining the geography of Afghanistan, Pakistan and the mountain ranges.

Dear Ken,

Argh! Do you realise what you've done? You've ruined all other authors for me now! I've finished all your books and have been trying other authors, but honestly no one carries your flair! I hang on your every word, I see the scenery, I feel the emotions. I love your characters and how they think.

I'm 16 years old and have been a fan for just over year. My first Follett book was lent to me by a friend. It was 'The Pillars of the Earth'. I was a bit 'stand offish' at first, I took one look and thought 'my God' I'll never get through that! But in less then a week I had finished it and loved every page.

My friend owns all your books, so she is now my library! I love 'Pillars' so much and I can't wait till the sequel! But my absolute favourite is 'A Place Called Freedom,' which I have read nine times and have almost finished my tenth time round.

I am now waiting very impatiently for your next novel. Thank you for your words, they are a godsend as far as I'm concerned. I have great respect for your work.
