I just read 'Hornet Flight'. I enjoyed it very much. However, there were consequences. My poor wife had to wait all morning for me to get going on some things we had to do. Fortunately, she loves me and she is very patient. Thank God for her that you only come out with a new book once per year.

Dear Ken,

This may seem like another ordinary fan's letter, but while visiting your website I decided that I just had to write. I am a construction student in Ireland, and a few years ago management was one of my subjects. Our lecturer suggested we read 'The Pillars of the Earth' as it was about construction.

I searched all the second-hand book shops in County Cork for the book. In one shop I asked the owner if he had it. He sat back, removed his glasses and went on this big shpeel (Irish term meaning 'long-winded account') about how it was his 'favourite favourite book' (yes, he said it twice) and how it was a love story. I was surprised as I thought it was a novel about construction. Anyway to end my shpeel he didn't have it and I got it in a new book shop. I read it that summer.

Ken, I have to say that it is now my 'favourite favourite book'. I recommend it to everyone. The imagery, emotion, description (I can almost taste the weak ale and the pottage) is second to none -- none, I tell ya. Anyway, I've bought a load of your books since (even found 'The Modigliani Scandal' in a bookshop in Amsterdam while I was on holiday there). But I must say 'Pillars' is the best. Can't wait for the sequel that I just read about.

Dear Ken,

It's 3:34 AM and I just finished 'Hornet Flight'. I have read many of your books, but this one tops them all. It was wonderful reading, and I think it would make a fantastic movie. It is hard to find adjectives to describe your book, and 'wonderful' seems so inadequate. I loved the book and loved Harald and Karen.

You rock, Ken! Before this book, 'Eye of the Needle' was my favorite of your books.

Dear Mr. Follett,

I read my first Ken Follett book, 'Jackdaws'. Stayed up two nights in a row! Then 'Code to Zero'. Went onto 'Man from St.Petersburg' and 'Eye of the Needle'. Read them, then onto 'Paper Money,' 'Lie Down with Lions' and 'Hornet Flight'.

I enjoy your style of writing. When you open a Ken Follett book you know from the moment you start reading that you will be there a while. I had not picked up a book in years to read, but when I picked up the first of yours I was hooked.

Dear Ken,

You probably get tired of hearing this, but I love your books and I have read them all. I just finished 'Jackdaws' and I'm currently reading 'Hornet Flight.' I had trouble picking out one favorite, since I loved 'Lie Down with Lions,' 'Night Over Water,' 'A Dangerous Fortune,' 'Code to Zero,' and 'Jackdaws' a lot, but 'Pillars' impressed me the most.

When I first picked up the book and read the jacket cover description, I almost put it down since I found it hard to believe that anyone could make an interesting story around the building of a cathedral. But you did it, and I think that impressed me the most.
